Sir Lewis Hamilton achieves his 100th race win!

Lewis Hamilton 100th race win

Last weekend the exciting Sochi Grand Prix took place in Russia. Specifically on Sunday 26, the race ended in a shocking way and with great joy for the British Mercedes driver, Sir Lewis Hamilton.

The rain was once again doing its thing in Formula 1 for the second time this season and this time, it completely changed the podium in this race right in its final stretch. What does not change is that Pinnacle continues to offer the best markets in Formula 1. If you open an original Pinnacle account via broker, you can win big!

The last rounds

The first lap was the one dreamed of at Ferrari, as Carlos Sainz, who started second, took advantage of the slipstream of Norris, who started from the pole and began leading the race, enduring the onslaught of McLaren in the duel with his former teammate.

However, it wasn’t long before Norris regained the lead which was later taken by Checo Pérez.

After recovering first place, Norris endured the attacks of his compatriot who was getting closer and closer. This stayed that way and looked like a sure victory for McLaren until the rain appeared on the final laps.

The pointers were slow to change from smooth to water tires. Hamilton, by order of the team, went through the pits; Norris tried to hold on, but driving in those conditions was impossible. It was this poor decision that cost the young driver the race because by leaving the track, he gave Hamilton all the advantage of taking first place.

100th wins!

The victory in Russia marks 100 victories for the British driver and makes him the first Formula 1 driver to win 100 races. Since last July 18, Sir Lewis Hamilton has been waiting for the long-awaited moment of reaching a hundred victories, having achieved 99 on the circuit of his own land.

Of course, it was only a matter of time before the seven-time champion achieved the feat.

It is worth noting that Hamilton finished the race almost a minute ahead of the second place occupied by none other than Max Verstappen, his direct rival for the title, who advanced from the back of the grid to the podium. Carlos Sainz completed the winners after a good race.

After this result, the fight for the championship is still alive and the rivalry between these two great drivers will only increase. Stay tuned to our news section for the most up-to-date information!
